Is Lisa still tearing you apart? Then don’t miss out tonight’s event.
15 years after creating the unintentional “masterpiece”/cult favourite The Room, Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero teamed up once again to create Best F(r)iends. The story follows a drifter (Sestero) who is taken in by a mortician (Wiseau) to run an underground business, which tests their friendship and loyalty to each other.
The first volume of the thriller was released digitally and in select cinemas earlier this year to surprisingly kind reviews (as one critic puts it, “The cinematography is half-way decent, the performances that aren’t Wiseau’s are enjoyable in the traditional sense, and the film moves … with no issues in continuity or plot”).
Tonight, the second part will be debuting in Sydney’s Hayden Orpheum in Cremorne. Apart from enjoying the movie (and perhaps throwing some spoons at the screen, as per tradition), you can also see Sestero, the actor and writer of the saga, who will be appearing (!) for Q&A and meet-and-greet.
The session runs tonight on Thursday, December 6 at 7pm. You can get your tickets on the Orpheum’s website.
